All Class Assignment

This course consists of assignments and lectures. The lectures are at All Course Lectures and each set of lectures culminates in a quiz or exam. At the same time, you will be performing practical assignments throughout the class. You MUST work with other students to complete these assignments. There is one assignment per week for the summer term and per week and a half for regular Fall and Spring terms.

Week Assignment Description Topics
1 Assignment 1B – UI and UX User Interface and User Experience are 2 of the most important concepts in business, in this paper, you will explore these concepts and write a paper that shows there importance. All Course Lectures
2 Assignment 2B  Project Getting Started (Project) Start with Use Case Scenarios – you will pick a project and start building. Topic – Task Analysis
3 Assignment 3 – Task Analysis (Project, team or solo) Before designing anything, a true understanding of the task must be obtained. Here we will work on the task of registering for classes. Topic – Task Analysis
4 Assignment 4 – Creating a User Interface (Project) You will start building a user interface for your own application or for a web site. This design will follow you throughout the entire semester. Topic – Prototyping
5 Assignment 5 – Cognitive Walk-through (Project, solo) Cognitive walk-through is one of the most basic evaluation methods for applications. Topic – Usability Evaluation
6 Assignment 6 – Heuristic Evaluation (Project) You will continue evaluating the designs of other students. Topic – Usability Evaluation
7 Assignment 7 – User Profiles and Surveys (Project, team or solo) For this assignment, you will create a survey and as part of the survey you will also generate a user profile Topic – Understanding Users I  and II
8 Assignment 8 – User-Based Testing (Project, team or solo) Now we will work with users, the last step in creating the best design for your application (also forming teams to complete the design) Topic – User Testing
9 Assignment 9 – Creating a User Interface II (Project, team or solo) You will return to your user interface a second time. This time you will implement changes based on usability analysis and submit your final design  
10 Assignment 10 – Retrospective (solo) This is your opportunity to look at how you fit into the entire UI/UX scene and give feedback to improve this class for future students.
