Courses

These are the classes that I am currently teaching at Daytona State College.

This course introduces fundamentals of Data Structures. Topics include: Programming Strategies, Data Structures, Searching, Complexity, Queues, Sorting, and Algorithms. Offered during the Spring.

The students will learn the basic elements of design and evaluation of human computer interfaces. Topics will include interface design best practices, integrating design with user requirements, and common design elements of computer interfaces. Offered during Summer.

Introduction to web systems with emphasis on server configuration, web standards, page design, use of XML, Javascript for client interactivity, and accessibility standards. Extensive computer programming with Javascript and HTML5 will be performed. Offered during Fall.

Advanced web design with server side technology (focus on .NET) is covered. Students will develop, test, and publish database driven web sites using cloud based server and.NET publishing standards including code management. Offered during Spring.

Study of relational and other databases systems. Advanced SQL query and programming, decision support systems, and advanced database topics are covered. Programming project is required. Offered during Spring.

This course covers computer programming fundamentals as they are used to solve engineering problems. Basic input and output, conditional logic, loops, and use of computing libraries such as plotting and using numerical functions are all covered. Students will produce technical engineering reports based on the computing solutions they develop to solve engineering problems.
