Wiki Based Classes – All Students Read

The class management for these courses is wiki based. The classes are assignment based. I constantly add information to help with the assignments so even if you have started with an assignment it is worthwhile to look at it on a regular basis. You are graded on your ability to DO, not your ability to regurgitate information. I also do give credit to students who help me with more (useful) information for the class – this is called your contribution grade.

How the Class Works

This class is assignment based and you should start with the assignments. There are 2 components to the course; this wiki site and the Falcon Online site. The Falcon Online site is where you will turn in assignments and post to the bulletin boards and do all those Falcon Online type of items. This site is where all the course content resides.

Step 1 – Start with the Assignments  START HERE

This class is all about what you can DO. You will be using SQL Server and real data sets to perform analyses on real sets of data. There are weekly assignments – some of which are extensive and some of which build on top of other assignments. You will need to have access to SQL Server with all the analysis tools. I highly recommend you have this on your own computer.

The assignments are at this link: COP4709 Assignments

Step 2 – Course Lectures and Video

The outline of the course, topics for the current semester (Spring 2018) and video lectures may be found at the link below. These may change from semester to semester. The lectures and assignments also refer to files, information and case studies which may be found in the second link below.
